History of Pennsalvania

Pennsylvania  was  first  the  home  to  the  Susquehannock,  Iroquois,  Eries,  and  Shawnee  which  are

Native  Americans. The  first  people  to  settle  Pennsylvania  was  the  Europeans.  One  of  its  nick  names  was  the  New  Sweeden.

King  Charles  the  second  owed  $80,000 to William Penn and as the payment he gave a land tract to Penn.

Pennsylvania was confirmed to Penn under the Great Seal on January 5, 1681. Thats where Pennsylvania got its name from, William Penn.

Penn made a treaty with Leni Lenape to purchase his grant of land, even thogh he didnt have to.

A monument now stands in Shackamaxon, at Penn Treaty Park in Kesington PA. Its a modest memorial of a

momentous act  the  spot  where  they  signed  the unbroken  treaty.
